President Mahama Resolves To Use Country's Resources To Improve Status Of All
President John Dramani Mahama has pledged to make full use of the advantages of the nation to increase the country's prosperity in his first term of Office.
He said it will take all Ghanaians to come together to build the Nation.
He has therefore invited all Ghanaians to take part in Nation-building.
President Mahama was delivering a speech to mark Ghana's 56th Independence Anniversary.
He said although Ghana has won the battle for political emancipation, the war against poverty, ignorance and disease still rages on.
President Mahama said he is working with the Utility Companies to bring an end to the electricity and water crisis.
He asked Ghanaians to demonstrate a high sense of individual responsibility by taking a stance against abuse and misuse of water, electricity and other public services.
President Mahama said the nation cannot prosper if time is devoted to petty political squabbles and insults.
He asked the citizenry to take collective ownership of the challenges facing the nation and focus on working forwards realising success rather than failure.
The President also touched on indiscipline. He appealed to all Ghanaians to embrace the wind of change.
