UPDATE: Governor Chime Returns After 140 Days
Reports reaching Channels Television from the city of Abuja, say that Enugu
State Governor, Sullivan Chime, this morning arrived Nigeria, aboard a
British Airways flight, that touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport, Abuja, after 140 days of absence from office.
In a telephone interview with Channels Television, Mr Ugwoke
confirmed that the governor arrived Abuja on Thursday morning aboard an
early morning British Airways flight and went straight to the Enugu
State Governor’s Lodge in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
It was gathered that the governor was received by family, friends and well-wishers.
The governor had been reportedly admitted in a hospital in London for
an ailment that has generated a lot of discussions within and outside
Enugu State.
He was recently visited by his colleagues, from Rivers, Akwa Ibom and
Benue State, Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio and Gabriel Suswam.
Akpabio announced on their arrival that Chime should be in the country
by Sunday.
Following their visit, Mr Akpabio had said in Lagos on Friday that Mr Chime would return home within 10 days.
