False e-mail message account of FAAN MD

The attention of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria has been drawn to the supposed recent e-mail posting of the Chief Executive of the Authority, Mr. George Uriesi by some unscrupulous elements, trying to lure unsuspecting members of the public into a non-existent business arrangement running into millions of dollars, using the name of Mr. Uriesi.

Mr. Uriesi who is the Managing Director/Chief Executive of FAAN has dissociated himself from any business deal emanating from this bogus e-mail, soliciting for partnership to transfer huge amounts of money in all its entirety.

We believe the latest attack is not unconnected with elements who have found themselves on the wrong side of the transformation agenda in the aviation sector, and having failed to frustrate the programme, may have resorted to smear campaigns against the implementation of the agenda.

 While we believe this fresh attack will fail woefully, we however advise members of the public not to fall victim to any filthy lucre under any guise, expecting a windfall where none exist.

FAAN is committed to turning around our airports to meet set international standards and no amount of blackmail or intrigue can distract us from this noble mission.
