Crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took another dimension Monday, as the party expelled Brig.-Gen. Adetunji Idowu Olurin (rtd), from Yewa South Local Government Area from the party.

The party also expelled Hon. Bode Mustapha and Senator Dipo Odujinrin from Odeda Local Government  Area and Remo North Local Government Area respectively.

According to a statement by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Waliu Oladipupo,  their expulsion was in line with Section 58 (1) b, f, j, k and I of the party’s constitution.

Oladipopu also said Hon. Dapo Adeyemi and Mr. Yahaya Ahmed from Ifo Local Government Area and Ado/Odo Ota Local Government Area respectively were suspended for six years in accordance with Section 58 (1) b, f, j, k and I of the party’s constitution.

He added that the five former members have been suspended for one month as a result of their anti-party activities on November 3, 2012.

He, however, said they failed to appear before the disciplinary committee set up to defend the charges against them within the 30 days stipulated by the party’s constitution.
He said the party, as a responsible organisation that believes in discipline and the rule of law, has initiated contempt proceedings against them since they have continuously shown their disdain for the judiciary.

He further said that the party, as a responsible organisation that believes in discipline and the rule of law, has initiated contempt proceedings against them since they have continuously shown their disdain for the judiciary.

It would be recalled that the Federal High Court in Lagos had in a judgment delivered on November 16, 2012, nullified the purported congress that they conducted, ordered their arrest and prosecution for holding themselves out as officers of the party in Ogun State.

This was sequel to two judgments delivered by an Ogun State High Court sitting in Ilaro which on June 19 and August 3, 2012 affirmed the Adebayo Dayo-led executive as the authentic management body for the party in the state and nullified the list of candidates submitted for the July 21, 2012 council election in Ogun State by these impostors.
